2008>2007

There's no doubt, 2007 was a killer year for games. The only problem was, if your not a fan of FPS's, like myself, you may have felt it lacked some depth.This year seems to be all about variety. Fighters are making a comeback, there are some great looking action adventures on the horizen, horror games abundent, and finally some RPG's.Indeed 2008 has potential to be better than even the celebrated 2007.Discuss.2008%26gt;2007
of course it will be better.
PS3 will have MUCH better games even though i liked alot of last years games to.
Wii has some hyperd games and theres always some good little games here and there.
360 will have another decently solid year.2008%26gt;2007
I think it is you have great variety of games coming MGS4,GTA4,GEOW2,NINJA GAIDEN and others so it looks promising year.
2008 definitely has alot more variety as well as very promising games no matter what system you own.
A girly man? :lol: I can't really ever fall under there because I'm a girly girl. :P Anyways, I pick 2008 because there are so many cool games coming out like LittleBigPlanet, Army of Two, GTA, Metal Gear Solid, etc. I can't wait.
2008 looks better at the moment but every game this year could be canceled and the gaming market could just crash. I'll wait till Nov or so, yes because I'm a girly man.
I can only talk for the pc, but yes it's a fantastic year for us.
No. Too many big and groundbreaking titles came out in 07.

No, I don't think so. This year may be mammoth. Widely known video games like Grand Theft Auto IV and Gears of War 2 are almost certainly going to be made available to the general public. Nevertheless, I don't think that it will be as gigantic as the last year. Everyone knows that year to be one of the most significant and most extraordinary years for video games.
I've kind of just cropped the best part of each year (the last four months of 2007 and the first 8 months of 2008 ) and put it all into one all powerful year that spans from about September 2007-August 2008.
I actually feel overwhelmed trying to decide what I want to buy this year, so yes I think this year is better than 2007.

Well lets just look at it like this

January- Burnout Paradise, NO More Heroes
February- Devil May Cry 4, Lost Odyssey
March- Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Rainbow Six Vegas 2
April- GTA 4
May- Mario Kart(im not sure), Haze
June- Metal Gear SOLID 4 :), Ninja Gaiden 2 :), Soul Caliber 4, Left 4 Dead

Thats just the first 6 months, and there is no let up. Not one of those months is a real dissappointment.

Like i said that is only the first 6 months, if history says anything Q4 is always huge, and if it goes like last year, From august to November there will be a big release every month.

SO yeah 08 is going to obliterate 07 and IMO might make a run at 98 if Starcraft 2, Dragon Age, and Spore come out this year.

Lets not forget potential 08 games that we all are thinking 09.

GT 5, FF 13, RE 5, Bionic Commando, Alan Wake, and a few others can always end up coming this year. SO it could be huge.
2007 was overrated. A truly great year in gaming would need a bit more variety, which is something 2008 definitely has.
2007 was overrated except a few titles like BioShock and Mass Effect.
If MGS4 would have came in 07 then it would have been unbeatable, all platforms putting out their best games in the same year. As is, PS3 is going from a poor year in 07 to a great year in 08. Man I wish they could have balanced it out.
Last year we had alot of big selling NEW IPS

Like Bioshock, Assassins Creed, Rock Band, and Uncharted.

We had big sellers like Halo 3, COD 4, GH 3, and Mario Galaxy as well.

BUt 08 has Smash Bros which will be the wii's biggest gun

MGS 4 which will be PS3's biggest gun

Gears of War 2 which wont be 360's biggest gun since Halo is bigger and BETTER(get over it)

Starcraft 2 will sell

And i think some of the new ips this year will find success as well.

Also Resistance 2 should sell alot, theres what 3 million Resistance owners.

Fable 2 should sell alot, 2 million bought the original.

The gameplay is nothing special

It lacks any variety

Its campaign is worse than Halos

So is the story

THe online MP was better on halo

Halo has way more content and features.

Heck Halo 2 had more content and features.

Gears of War was extremely overrated, and with COD 4 and Halo 3 allready out, i dont see Gears of War 2 even being that special other than it will sell well.
