classic games that didnt hold up for you ...

with the VC and PS1 classics on PSN, and the retro games on all the consoles, which games has not aged well?also what games actually hold up or hold up better thebn you expected?i only have the PS3/PSP combo so i can only safely review them. the crash games still look and play great/ rally cross still holds up. detruction derby holds up alot better then i thought and i play it more then dirt and motorstorm.wipeout is still awesome. however.....jet moto 2 and 3 are awful. warhawk used to amaze me. now it does because of how bad it looks. twisted metal 2 looks pretty bad to. esspecially since head on was released. it is still the best car combat game out and a blast to play.overall. i think 2-D games look better then alot of the old PS1 and SATURN games. the clipping and tearing is painful to see. and the pixels, lol. the pixels.as for the retro stuff? pacman, galaga, ect.? still the best games to play. never gets old.classic games that didnt hold up for you ...
Not on VC or PSN, but I've played Goldeneye recently and that's aged terribly.. Possibly the worst classic to go back and play. classic games that didnt hold up for you ...
PS1 games still look pretty good to me. SNES games like DKC still look amazing to me. Last gen games are so-so, it was the first time when there was a real realistic art style and many of those games don't look that good anymore, the last gen games that will still look amazing in 10 years and probably Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7, FFX, RE4, and of course HL2 (probably the only realistic styled game that still looks good to me after 4 years.)
Sad to say but i couldn't get into system shock 2 when i played it a month ago.the story was still interesting and the gamemechanics were too. but the enemies looked aweful and worst of all reacted badly. they were crazy fast and beelined for you. and there were like only 2 or 3 animations for them. it really took me out of the game.
Oh, I forgot a game that has aged very well in Curse of Monkey Island.
Oh, I forgot a game that has aged very well in Curse of Monkey Island.
I thought Starcontrol 2 holds up really well today as well. I just replayed and finished the Ur-quan Masters (3do port of SC2 with voice overs for all the dialog, of which there is a LOT) and it was quite fun.
I can go and play any classic game really and equally enjoy them compared to games that are out now or even get the feeling that there better than todays games. None of the classic games I like feel outdated to me because there still enjoyable. People say Turn based RPGs are outdated, but thats not true because lots of people still like turn based combat, they should make lots of RPGs that appeal to both turn based combats fans and real time combat fans. I don't want them to be all mindless button masher games.

Zelda OOT and Goldeneye both aged badly. Sue me.Last weekend, I revisited Chrono Cross, and that game has aged amazingly well. Also Starcraft will forever remain a classic.
Dare I say it? OoT. Couldn't play it and that was 4 or 5 years ago.
i still play OoT. Doesnt feel too different to the other zeldas.
The original Half Life still does most things better than current shooters.
I would say any King's Quest...But I will name a few which I think aged well for me SMB2, Zelda 2, Wolf3D and SQ4.
