Honestly,do you buy games based on revie ...

Sometimes i do :P , i dont even look at vids or picz just the genre and some reviews:P Honestly,do you buy games based on revie ...
If its a month where 3 or more games come out that are supposidly good then I do look at reviews a bit more. The reason I do that is because I dont want to spend ?50 on good games, when I could just spend ?0 on the best game.Although last year was an acception, I was buying games like they were candy between September and December.Honestly,do you buy games based on revie ...
I check the average score, read a few reviews and that helps me decide if it is a good game or not.
yes, i dont have money to waste on bad games.
It's not the sole reason, but it plays a big factor.
Hell no. If I did, I'd now be missing out on Lost Oddessy which to me is >>>9.0
Yes i do, just not from any site/publication that relies on advertising revenue. For honest unbiased reviews see Gamecentral (uk). Everything else is bought/bribed/done under pressure from publishers, or just ignorant fanboy blog type tat.
Only for sports games like FIFA and nba 2k
Nope. I have every Ace Attorney game...the score keeps getting lower and lower each installment. I still buy em though b/c I really enjoy the series. I'm a fan of the series. That's why I enjoy them.
Not really though I check reviews for games... Its all a matter of personal tastes in the end... I lately got Conflict: Denied Ops which didnt get high scores but personally I enjoyed the game specially in co-op mode... PSN ID: Anubis1980Currently Playing:PS3 - DMC4, COD4, Unreal III, Orange Box, Conflict: DOPSP - Castlevania, Outrun2006, Patapon
It's not the sole reason, but it plays a big factor.
I 2nd that.
If it's a new IP then I usually check IGN's score and the average.
almost always... no However, In the case of some games like ''Lost:Via Domus'' I needed to hear if the game was worth the 60 dollar purchase based on an overall review from many websites... I'm sure the game is good, but In 6 weeks it will be in the discount bin... thats were I buy most of my games... if you can be patient and wait you can save litteraly hundreds of dollars...

Yes i do. Scores don't bother me though. I have lots of games that scored 5-8. I use reviews to learn how the game works etc. I can usually tell if i would like the game or not from a few reviews. Score's mean nothing to me though.
If really like the game from gameplay videos and the concept behind it I would get it regardles of its score... but if every site and everyone that plays the game gives it nothing but praise then even if I dont like it that much I would purchase it just to see what the fuss is about. So yeah I would say to a certain degree I do use review sites to convince me of a purchase that I wouldn't have made if it weren't for them.
if a game interests me I ususally read the reviews to decide if I'm going to like the game. I don't look at scores though.
Somewhat, if a game is terrible I want to know. I am not gonna buy many games this year; I wanna make sure I have the best and what appeals to me.
It has quite a big influence. How else can you filter through all the hundreds and hundreds of releases and decide which ones might be worth your time? There are plenty of other factors which influence my decision as well of course.

But I use alot more than one review and I do NOT use Gamspot's reviews. I don't even read their reviews, let alone actually use them. I also use demos when I can.
