Mass Effect hdd install on 360?

Last month fanboys of all camps were in uproar over Capcoms comments about the need for console installs on the playstation 3, in order to speed up load times and other common issues. However yesterday I went back to Mass Effect, knowing full well it had a few technical hiccups and it got me thinking. These problems are caused by streaming data of the disc, rather than the technical limitations of the 360- In other words the pc version will easily run a lot smoother due to the requaired install. My question is this, for those who enjoyed mass effect or wanted to but were held back by a few problems, would you have allowed this one game to be installed onto your hdd to improve the way it plays?Mass Effect hdd install on 360?
Very good question, TC.The success of this thread, though, will hinge off of whether hardcore 360 fans can admit to being bothered by ME issues. If they come in and claim no issues whatsoever, this will be a circle of debates.Mass Effect hdd install on 360?
It could have an optional install.
Nope I that would mean I would have to delete my map packs and extra content for other games and I cant do that.If the 360 launched with a 100GB HDD from scratch it would b a problem but now they would have to make most gamers choose on what content to have or not to have and some dont want to.
I dont get these reqiured installs that capcom are sayin?? maybe just the engine there using for there games need it, because uncharted on ps3 looks 3 times better than dmc4 and has zero load times apart from when u start up the game, so how is it uncharted which looks and plays amazing has no load times or required installs yet capcom cant do it without a hardrive install, mind you im all for HD installs if they make the loading faster than the 360 version was without one
It could have an optional install.
Normally it could only have been one or the other. It would take two copies of the game to have a optional choice.
Lost Odyssey could benefit from a HDD install. Can I get an amen :?
I dunno. The 20GB hard drive is so ridiculously small that I'd have to delete Mass Effect off of it, and reinstall it every time I felt like having another bash at it.

I really didn't notice any frame rate problems and the texture popins didn't bother me, but if the hdd install would've been included i would've done it. Why? because i was foolish and bought an elite and have about 60 gig of free space so it would be nice to fill it with something, specially if it would've meant faster loadtimes.

amen here!
As long as it was optional not forced then yes.

I never have slow down when it matters (ie fighting and walking around planets). The only time it happens are those few seconds when your vehicle lands on a planet. But you can't control your vehicle during that time anyways so it has zero effect. Texture popin happens the worst in the equip character screen, lol. That has ZERO effect on gameplay. When you first land on a planet you have it as well, but as said earlier, when you land its like a mini cutscene of your vehicle. You can't move around anyways. Once you start moving it isn't there.Back to the topic, optional installs aren't bad. Mandatory ones are. I've got 7 360 games already. With a 40 gig PS3 that'd be almost the entire hdd. If i buy a new game I have to uninstall the other. For me, that means i'm not really gonna play that uninstalled game again. Having to wait 20 min just for a quick fix of Devil May Cry eliminates it being a quick fix and i'll probably play something else instead.
Mass effect could have been much more if it hadn't been for all those technical problems that all resulted caues MS seemed it was stupid not to make a HDD standard.
I dont think anyone could argue that an optional install is a bad thing. If you stop playing the game then just uninstall it and install the next one. You wont lose your save files or anything, you'll just have to put up with loading problems again.
The pop in was blown way out of proportion. It wasn't as bad as all cows and hermits claim. That said, I wouldn't mind having them drastically reduced via a hdd install. Who wouldn't mind that?
