So, for those of us who aren't up on the ''lastest and greatest'' in gaming news...What exactly is the DLC in x360's version? What exactly will the ps3 version NOT have; in relationship to the x360's version?I'm not really looking into reading people's opinions on this topic but, just looking for the bottom-line facts to clear up any significant difference in regards to the DLC.Bottom-line GTA DLC, what exacly is it?
What's all this I hear about Downloadable content?
The 360 version of GTAIV will have exclusive downloadable content, with each episode (there are 2 episodes) of content to be equal to the San Andreas and Vice City games for PS2/Xbox. Delivery of the GTA expansions will be available via digital download. Prices have not been announced. The PS3 version has had no confirmed downloadable content atm.http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26266475Bottom-line GTA DLC, what exacly is it?
did rockstar say the dlc will be the size of san andreas or vice city?
did rockstar say the dlc will be the size of san andreas or vice city?
mission wise yes, but alot of people are thinking land size

All in all, tow HUGE expansions, anyway you see it, aming 360 the only version to buy IMO

did rockstar say the dlc will be the size of san andreas or vice city?
mission wise yes, but alot of people are thinking land size
Yeah it has to be mission wide, they may add some little land masses, but nothing the size of San Andreas. But who knows maybe Rockstar would add San Andreas and Vice City into the 360 verison of GTA4 with the DLC. :D
How much is that going to cost and how much space is it going to take up if it is actually land size. That is doubtful.
And for all the cows.......the DLC will not come to the PS3(also its not a timed DLC) as MS paid 50mil for it to be 360 only. So the PS3 is getting no DLC at the moment and any future ones will not be exclusive(as said by rockstar).
The size of Vice City or San Andreas? That's ****ing ridiculous. I don't know about THAT...
The size of Vice City or San Andreas? That's ****ing ridiculous. I don't know about THAT...
Even if they are half that, will be huge enough to make PS3 version a no buy to me
I gotta be honest, I can't see the DLC for GTAIV being as big as SA or VC in any way, shape or form. Obviously it isn't land mass wise, and as games SA and VC were both 20-25 hour games. Ain't gonna happen, though I am anticipating the DLC.
why do people all of a sudden care about missions in a GTA game. im getting the ps3 version, i dont care about extra missions, i have to force myself to go through the missions just so i can unlock the land and free roam, why would i want to burden myself by putting more on there. at least the ps3 will get some DLC, but its just not exclusive. not to mention when is the DLC coming out, and whats to stop people from moving on after GTA to play the other good games coming out? i dont see many people going back to playing extra missions if they take to long to come out
Imo it will just add a relatively small area to the map compared to the already existing map on the original game and misions that will take place in the new area as well as in the original one. If it was as big as san andreas, and with next gen gfx etc, you wouldn't see it being released before a year or 2, when everyone wont care much anymore about GTA4 and will be on other games.
First we have no idea what this DL content is, how big, and if it adds new lands or not, which it probably does as it is describedSecond, why not have the option to keep playing the game after finishing its core missions ???? You make no sense, if GTA4 is an amazing game, i would harly like to miss on extra stuff that would make me play it far longer !!! Unless you mean GTA4 is crap, so you do not buy the game in the first place

Unless you mean GTA4 is crap, so you do not buy the game in the first place
its ok to have the option, but how many people really will choose that option (considering alot of casuals might not even know it exists)? we all know for a fact that its not the missions in GTA that made the game what it is today, its the free roaming which is able to be done without the DLC. and if its like every other gta game the missions will go as follows ''get this weapon-kill this guy-take his car-uhh ohh cops, go spray your car-bring to base- opps you dented the car, go fix it- now bring it back to base- crap you took to long go do it all over again''
All we know is that it is exclusive to the 360. No comment has been made as to the nature, price or size of the content. Some blogs have made assumptions from an MS Bloggers' Breakfast that actually have no basis. (here's the audio - 52 min. in, LINK if the first doesn't work)
MS said that each episode would contain an additional 10 hrs of gameplay, but Sam Houser said that each episode would be about 4-5 hrs. long. Anyone who says the episodes will be as long as any of the PS2 games has no idea what they are talking about.
So here is what I'm getting so far from all these GTA dl threads. MS paid 50 mil for 2 or 3 missions, it's going to cost more money than even exists to purchase it and nobody plays the game through to the end anyway.
