Stop Bashing and Start playing: Former r ...

Back in 1996 I bought my PS1 and in 2000 I bought a PS2 and in 2003 I bought an XBOX which i fell in love with. When I heard of the new generation was coming I said to myself I would buy all 3 systems but lack of money and impatience lead me to purchase an XBOX360 which I love and quickly became a fanboy which is what the game hardware companies want us all to become. I had become a rabid fanboy and the lack of games on the PSP lead me to believe the PS3 would be a massive failure as if Sony had become to big for its britches and not gave a hoot.I Prayed for Blu-Ray to fail and for a while I thought it would, I was certain my console of choice would reign victorious and thats a long way before it is decided, but last week I made a very important leap and that was to buy a PS3 mostly for Blu-Ray since the format wars were finally over. I have to tell you I love my PS3 although there is a shortage of games at the moment (games that I dont already own on the 360) I still think I made a good decision. Blu-Ray is fantastic and I am looking forward to 2008 which if EGM is to be believed it will be an awesome year for gamers specially PS3 owners.My point is not which console is better because I love them both for their own reasons that I will not get into because of fear of inciting a riot, but I just wanted all to realize this juvenile bashing of each others console is not good for the industry of gamers in general. I understand some of us can only afford one console and understand where the hate comes from, I still have issues with Sony because of all the UMD crap I bought as well as minidisc stuff. Just be happy that you have your system and let others enjoy theirs because they are both great consoles in their own right.Stop Bashing and Start playing: Former r ...

Yeah, I agree. I don't have an Xbox 360 or a Wii, and I don't really have the time to make use of all the systems if I was a multi-system owner (atm I'm happy with my PS3 + Gaming PC combo). However, I can see the good in the other systems and their games. Obviously I'm not going to get particularly excited over an exclusive 360 or Wii game because I don't have those systems. But if a game is good, regardless of the system, I'll recognize it as such.
I fully agree, Listening to someone who doesn't own the console they are bashing is about as practical as being told a movie sucks by a person who read a review in the paper. I have been a Manticore since the NES/SMS days, and regardless of the console there is always something excellent you can get on one console that you can't on the other. For those who chose to only buy one there is no question that they are missing out on something, and they can justify it anyway they want otherwise, but they are missing out and they always will.

Former,Xbox fanboy here(100% rehabilitated) . I just wanted to say congrats. You'll find that food tastes a little better and the sun shines a little brighter now. You also have more to get excited about.

Well...everybody misses out on tons of stuff not just fanboys.It all depends on how many hours in the week you have to play video games and your tastes could be filled by a single system. So people have their tastes and saying they miss out might be technically correct but it's no condemnation. That's like saying OH MAN YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY IT IS FANTASTIC (which it is) to a person who's tastes for movies are entirely filled by the action genre. Do they care? No. Are they wrong not to care? You might feel that way but in reality no.So basically people who condmen fanboys are nothing more than elitist snobs who have to feel they are looking down on people to feel good about themselves./thread
