Think about it, how many times has a game been hyped to hell and back and then when it finally arrives more often than not it turns out be a huge letdown. Then many gamers moan and **** at the game and developers rather than seeing that it's their fault for hyping up the game to massive proportions in the first place. That's why I think we should all stop hyping games until we actually have them in our hands and we can play them for ourselves and then if a game is a true AAA title, then it can hyped and word of mouth will spread for a game that actually deserves it. Think of some great games that sold abysmally because they didn't have the marketing budgets or the advertising that the big franchises get. Time to stop the hype machine
NO, we need hype. its what drives a gamers soul.
plus we need something to make fun of.
Time to stop the hype machine
The only hypers that get burned here on GS on a regular basis are cows. Halo 3? everyone *KNEW* it would be AAA. Bioshock? AAA. The only game lemmings got burned on in the past.. what.. 6 months or more? Mass Effect, and it was still not that bad.
Every game that could have even POSSIBLY acchieved 9.0 on this site were given horrible reviews/low scores. no, i'm not crying ''bias'' or anything like that. I just think it's been kinda crappy that cow's have been getting the run around with reviews. But I think this year, since the PS3 is picking up in popularity, we could start seeing the first AAA score(s) from GS for PS3 exclusives. But it was fine for lemmings to hype GeoW AAA, because everyone knew it would get that, but it's now a bad idea for anyone to hype anything? why?
It's generally safe for lemmings to hype whatever they want AAA, it'll usually get it. I'd say the only risk takers are Cows when they hype a game AAA on System Wars.
